There's no turning back now. I'm hooked by the notion of letting a good idea get a hold of you to carry you where you belong. Maybe, just maybe, there's something to Rolf Skyberg's idea of "Web 2.0 happens when the approachable investment equals zero."
And I've definitely taken up the patriarchal personal challenge that Rilke sets out in this poem:
Sometimes a man stands up during supper
And walks outdoors, and keeps on walking,
Because of a church that stands somewhere in the East.
And his children say blessings on him as if he were dead.
And another man who remains inside his own house,
Stays there, inside the dishes and in the glasses,
So that his children have to go far out into the world,
Toward that same church, which he forgot.
That last stanza is eerie. But with frank partners like JP & Elissa + all kinds of other unruly, disciplined creative friends like Gretchen, Suzie, Brian, Terry, Troy, Troy, Jonnie O, Mike, Stephan and, of course, Toe Jam and The Toenail Fairies, I'm not worried one bit.
